As Campton Township Highway Commissioner, his tenure's overall achievements include the first-ever computerization of the Highway District Office, the resurfacing of over 130-plus miles of Township road, the replacement of over 800 street signs, and the replacement of over 200-plus non-functioning culverts at no expense to homeowners. The Campton Township Highway District has also taken over the responsibility for an additional 36 miles of roadway during Commissioner Gallucci's tenure.
He brings to his office an extensive background in a range of work environments. After graduating from Northeastern Illinois State University with a Bachelor Degree in Political Science, he went into law-enforcement, spending the next 21 years in various police positions for several police departments, including Evanston PD, Naperville PD, Kendall County Sheriff's Department, and the Plano Police Department.
His experience includes patrol officer, evidence technician (crime scene investigations), Detective, Sergeant, Deputy Chief of Police, and Chief of Police of the City of Plano, Illinois.
Commissioner Gallucci is an active volunteer in Campton's community and has served on several Township committees over the past 24 years, including the Parks and Recreation Committee that helped develop the Community Park on Brown Road. In 2003, in recognition of his service to the Wasco Baseball League, the baseball field at the Campton Township Community Center was dedicated to him. He currently serves on the Environmental Committee for Campton Township. In addition, Commissioner Gallucci has served on the Village of Campton Hills Fire and Police Commission since 2019, and has been the Chairman for the past 3 years.
Commissioner Gallucci resides with his wife in Campton Township, being a member of the community since 1986 and Highway Commissioner since 2001.
In 2007, the Village of Campton Hills was incorporated and required an agency to maintain their 101 miles of roads. Commissioner Gallucci signed a 10-year Intergovernmental Agreement with the Village to handle all maintenance of Village roads, which includes all required road maintenance and snow plowing.
In 2024, the Village of Campton Hills and the Campton Township Highway District again signed another IGA for maintenance of all Village roads, which is currently in effect until 2029.
In addition, the Campton Township Highway District has a similar IGA with the Plato Township Road District, the Village of Lily Lake, the Village of Virgil, and the Virgil Township Highway District. Road work on these roads is completed when a specific maintenance project is requested by the individual agency.
