Year Round Services Provided

  • Replacing cracked or damaged asphalt to extend the life of the roads.
  • Replace asphalt when replacing culverts.


  • Repairing minor holes along the roadways.
  • Acts as a temporary repair until a permanent repair can be made.


  • A process done to prolong the life of the roadway, by sealing up small cracks that would normally allow moisture to penetrate the top layer and cause separation between layers.


  • Replacement or repair failed culverts that are within the right-of-way.
  • This includes driveway culverts and cross culverts underneath the roadways.


  • To allow good visibility while traveling the roadways.
  • To allow the drainage ditches to flow properly to prevent flooding.


  • Clearing of debris and sediment around culverts.
  • Reshaping the drainage ditch to allow proper water flow.
  • Repairing underground storm sewers. 


  • This process is done in 3 layers: Emulsion, Stone / Emulsion mix, and it is topped with stone to allow traffic to flow.
  • Repairs larger areas along the roadways.
  • This process is adopted by the state of Illinois for proper roadway repair.


  • If a tree/branch is found to be a hazard along the Right-of-Way, the Highway District will do everything it can to make sure it is as safe as possible.


  • The Highway District staffs multiple mechanics to ensure breakdowns are kept to a minimum, providing a timely response to any issues that arise.


  • The Highway District is ready for any emergencies that arise.


  • Removal of deceased animals from road and right-of-ways to keep them clear.


  • Replacement of deteriorated roadways within Campton Township.
  • An outside engineering firm is used to evaluate roadway conditions and determine paving priorities. Roads are rated from excellent to poor and are scheduled for resurfacing as funding becomes available. 


  • Painting yellow and white striping to designate lanes on the roadways.
  • Freshen up Stop Bars at intersections.
  • Freshen up Crosswalks near schools and main road intersections.


  • Removal and disposal of debris along the roadways.
  • "Junking" the roads to remove trash that has made its way to the ditches.


  • Apply and maintain shoulder gravel along the edge of the roadways to prevent road edges from cracking and breaking apart.


  • Installation of all MUTCD-regulated signage.
  • Maintenance of current signage to provide a safe roadway.


  • Sweeping and clearing intersections of loose gravel or debris that cause unsafe conditions.
  • Clearing of large amounts of debris that could cause hazardous travel conditions.


  • Trim trees along the Right-of-Way to provide proper visibility at intersections and roadways.
  • Maintain overgrowth along ditches to allow the drainage to flow properly.


  • To restore the original grade and keep the Right-of-Way in good working condition.
  • To remove tire ruts or yard scrapes caused by traffic or snowplows.
  • Repairs will be made with soil, seed, and straw matting when required.
